Grabbing and holding the Redmi 1S can be tricky and to a point, annoying due to it's sensitive volume and power buttons. And especially when taking in and out of a pocket or bag. I have experienced multiple phone reboots and power off from accidental touches. Some users also accidently went into 'Fastboot' mode. There are two solutions to this problem.
Protective cover
First solution, buy a protective/flip cover that will prevent accidental button touches. Best to just head over to a mobile phone accessories shop to try on a cover before you buy. The Xiaomi soft silicone case(TPU) does not work.
Button settings
Second solution is to disable your power button when lockscreen is activated and enable 'Prevent Pocket Dials' option. These settings are available in the Redmi Note as well. Here's how.
First setting : Goto > Settings
Under 'Device' section, goto > Buttons
Enable 'Disable Power button menu'. The switch will turn orange when the option is enabled. Let's now proceed to the next setting.
Second setting : Goto > Settings > Display
Enable 'Prevent Pocket Dials' option. The switch will turn orange when activated.
Hopefully that will solve the mysterious reboots and fastboot mode problem for you.
I'm going to try your suggestions, I hope the disable power button works, getting into fastboot is so annoying! This really shouldn't happen in the first place! I have a question if I accidentally enter fastboot again is removing the battery the only solution? Can I restart the phone without removing battery?
ReplyDeleteI think pressing the power button for more than 10( or less) seconds should do it.
DeleteI haven't had reboots or power offs since setting the button this way. Just make sure the screen is off when you need to put into your pocket/bag/or anywhere. I am using the soft TPU case from Xiaomi which does not help to prevent accidental touches.

ReplyDeleteHow much? Well, if you were to put it in the palm of your hand maybe about a dime size amount. Apply evenly to towel dried hair immediately after washing and conditioning.
Xiaomi Mobile Cases

ReplyDeleteThat's a bootloop problem. You will need to flash a fast boot ROM. Backing up data at this point is too late.
DeleteGoto this link on how to flash

Use the first method.

DeleteAFTER booting again the same problem is here.is there any alternate solution for this? please help meee.
DeleteSince MIUI 8, the buttons weren't sensitive anymore. So it was actually a software problem rather than hardware.
ReplyDeleteJust unimpressed how long it took Xiaomi to fix this problem.
