Redmi Note 8 Global just got it's May security patch update with V11.0.9.0.PCOMIXM. The other models in the Redmi series like the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8T, Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A all got their security patch earlier.
Release notes for the V11.0.9.0.PCOMIXM, are updated Android Security Patch to May 2020 and increased system security. There's no mention of any bug fixes.
The file size for incremental update is about 422MB. If for some unknown reason, your phone couldn't apply the update after rebooting. Do not worry, just re-download the update and most likely the file size will be 2.0GB which is perfectly normal.
You can download the full ROM from this link ( which is an official link ).

Redmi Note 5 Pro/Ai Global V10.2.2.0.OEIMIXM and photo comparison
Xiaomi just rolled out a new update for the Redmi Note 5 Pro/Ai Global. This V10.2.2.0.OEIMIXM firmware could probably be the last stable update on Oreo before moving on to Android Pie.
The change log only shows a new Android security patch, do not be surprised if there were some bug fixes.
Camera
Below are some sample photos and comparison, before and after the firmware update. I'll be comparing photos between V10.2.1.0.OEIMIXM and V10.2.2.0.OEIMIXM. I did not test the front facing camera.
All photos are taken in:
1. Auto mode ( unless stated otherwise ).
2. Picture quality is set to HIGH.
3. Contrast, saturation and sharpness is Normal ( unless stated otherwise ).
4. All photos are taken about 50cm away; phone is placed on a fixed stand and position.
5. Auto exposure setting is Center-weighted.
6. Lighting is considered below average lighting condition. This test has less light intensity than my previous tests.

For those who are looking to give their aging PCs or laptops a new lease of life, this entry-level SSD by Kingston works without a fuss and cheap too.
